In 2003 GROOVY EYES celebrated 10 years of the band's musical journey on the road. Garnered a high level in today's roots-music scene all over - in fact they are in their own league - mixing afro-american music styles. This has simply being achieved by deep & broad devotion to the music and purposefully hard work with lots of free-spirited talent.
Groovy Eyes has performed over 1.000 inspirational festival,-club,-restaurant,-TV & radio gigs in Finland, Sweden, Norway & Denmark.
Their second Tuberadio Broadcast - CD continues following the path of their unique, earthly & fearless 2-track live-recording tradition. The natural, unconditional & wide open vibrating way of making records is the only way this band ever wants to do records which was the case also of their highly worldwide acclaimed debut High Flyin´ But No Foolin´- CD.
With this CD the band has succeeded again in a very hard field that most bands only dream of. They have captured the same spontanity, energy, intensity, soulfulness and joy of life as they are serving live on stage. These 100% original tunes are worldclass in their professionalism played with immediately irresistable groovy sound and personality. The tone and feel of this band combined with brilliant songs makes it very special.

This time they have cooked up musical "gumbo" which includes spices from Swing, Be Bop, Jump Blues, New Orleans Rhythm & Blues, Rock´n`Roll, Soul, Twangy Surf, Down Home & Hoodoo Blues, Hawaiian / Western Swing and even Flamenco. The CD is deliciously fresh with "raw-stuff" adopting a "no artificial flavour added-policy".
The name of the CD comes from Groovy Eyes singer / guitar player / songwriter Jussi "Jo´ Buddy" Raulamo´s "sensational" Finnish made Salora ´53 tuberadio guitar-amplifier, which he has used through out the band's 10-years history. Due to this "character's" original and outstanding sound with his archtop-guitar/ tuberadio-thing the U.S. Blues Revue & Vintage Guitar -magazines have written articles about it.
Great gigs, reviews and global radio play of the band´s debut record has resulted to Tuberadio Broadcast CD's distribution in Scandinavia, Europe & Northern-America.
In other words - You are going to hear a timelessly rich, powerfully swinging and down to earth musical firework, which won´t leave listeners cold, except with cold chills. A good feeling is guaranteed! This is something you rarely hear nowadays!

Gerry Hundt is a musician who plays and sings Chicago Blues for a living. He has been playing taverns since before he was allowed to drink in them. Born in Wisconsin and raised in Illinois, Gerry has since lived in Vermont, New York, and Colorado. He now resides in Chicago and tours with Nick Moss. On the strength of his critically-acclaimed Blue Bella Records CD, "Since Way Back," Gerry is nominated for a 2008 Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist, Other (Mandolin).

Armed with a hammond organ, a drum set and a singer (who brandishes other instruments), as well as the obligatory bass guitarist and guitar player, the band,in the words of top record producer Bosco Mann (Daptone Records) "successfully reclaim R&B" from it's "modern bastardization by major label pop".

Loosely speaking, their brand of music spans the period between the late 1950s and 1960s where rhythm & blues had almost started to develop into soul music and hammond organs played instrumentals that girls danced to. Rock n' roll was all about the twist, the monkey and 1001 other dance crazes and beat was not yet beaten into submission by the rock.

The Electrophonics from the south of the Netherlands and Belgium is a sensation in the Dutch West-Coast-Blues scene: nice retro-swing, Rhythm & Blues sounding like that early fifties style. Those men thought it was time to come up with an album that contained one hundred percent their own work!

Man, what a gig! Swing, jump, jive & rock-n-roll, the audience could feel the energy The Electrophonics put in their instruments. Rob Driessen of 3 Sun Recordings who produced their first cd “Feels Like A Million”, has also recorded, mixed & mastered this live cd. Joost Nevels of Nevels Audiovisuals took care of a fantastic Phonics Road Movie Clip, as the last track on this cd.

So in anticipation of their second studio cd, that is expected at the end of 2008, The Electrophonics (NL/B) present you a very fine live cd, reminiscing that fantastic performance during the Moulin Blues festival 2007!
