Giles Robson & The Dirty Aces (UK)
Crooked Heart Of Mine
CD PRICE: £9.99
Giles Robson and The Dirty Aces are fast rising stars on the UK and international music scenes. Robson first came to the attention of the UK national press in 2010 when backing blues legend Muddy Waters’ eldest son Mud Morganfield. At a packed show in central London, The Daily Express praised his “Exquisite harmonica” and The Dirty Aces were described as “Virtuosi”. The Express’s Paul Stewart stated that Robson could “Possibly be the best harmonica player on the blues scene today” and praised Filip Kozlowski's "Cutting guitar" and lauded the band as a "Great blues combo". "A track called "The Mighty Incinerator" from the band's 3 track promo CD was played on BBC Radio 2's Paul Jones show and was immediately spotted by Chris Evans and played on his Breakfast show the next morning with Evans stating "This is so good". This is the first time in the Paul Jones show history that a track has been heard by a mainstream radio 2 DJ and chosen spontaneously to be played on their show. |

Sherman Robertson & BluesMove (USA/UK)
Guitar Man - Live
CD PRICE: £9.99
Should it ever be necessary to look for a guitar hero to step into Buddy Guy's shoes then Sherman Robertson could be the very man. Like Buddy, he was born in Louisiana and has spent years playing hard, paying his musical dues before becoming a known name on the scene. Strong of voice and in full possession of a ferocious guitar technique, Sherman summons a similar intensity to that of Mr Guy. His full-on performance is superbly captured on his latest album "Guitar Man - Live" recorded at a Dutch festival in May 2005. Backed by the British trio BluesMove, who do a really superb job, Sherman claims the stage and struts his stuff like a man possessed. A hot album that definitely marks a high spot in this impressive artist's career. |

Tutweiler (DENMARK)
Comin' In!
CD PRICE: £9.99
TUTWEILER!
Music that sounds like cool cocktails, fast cars, humid nights and hot chicks....
In May 2010 TUTWEILER recorded their debut album – now it´s out!
The record is produced by American west-coast blues legend James Harman, one of the really big names in the genre – both as a singer/harp player, composer and producer!
A collaboration made possible by Danish Blues Man Peter Nande. From the studio in Copenhagen, Denmark the album travelled to Oceanside, California, USA!
Here Harman mixed the album with his partner – and very cool cat – Nathan James. The album consists solely of original tunes – and the title ”Comin In” bares witness
to an up-coming band more than ready to enter the blues scene! TUTWEILER play their blues cool and suave with vintage vibes and a laid back approach.
The sound is very personal, but the American west coast is never far away! |
