Shortly after their stage-debut and the release of their ‘home-made’ 4-track EP the audience started asking for a ‘real’ CD, which would contain most of the material the Caipyranhas played live. So it wasn’t the question ‘if’, but ‘when’ the Caipys would go into the studio. The band did not have a recorddeal yet, but that didn’t stop them to book 10 days in the ‘Institut für Lärmforschung’ in Bündheim, Germany, a studio owned by O. Lee, the bassplayer of the well-known German punkrock band Die Schröders. Recordings took place in February 2007 and most of the basic tracks were played live. You gotta go is a 100% live studio-recording, with Pit singing through the talkback-microphone, for example! Even with some overdubs on guitar and vocals the CD captures the live-feel and fun the band spreads during their concerts and that is what this CD is all about: FUN FUN FUN. So turn up the volume, press ‘start’ on your CD-player and enjoy the music from the band that puts the rock back into the billy.
Three unknown guys from different musical direction and one thing in common: whatever you play, play it loud and fast. With a total lack of respect for tradition and disregard for music, they take whatever they find interesting and play it the way they think it’s right. Started in march 2006 they did their first gig only two months later supporting the Waltons. In September and November that year they hit Sweden and the Netherlands as headliner, having their own supportbands. They are regular guests on the radio shows Baltimore Psychobilly and Psychobilly Fury, both American podcast stations.
In January 2007 they signed a contract with Part Records for their first CD ‘Kind Of Trouble’ (release May 2007), which mainly contains own material, a harsh mix of rockabilly, surf and blues. More international gigs are planned for April & June (Netherlands and Sweden) and more to come (preparations for the Kind-Of-Trouble-Promotion-Tour are being made at this very moment).
Just three guys with one thing in common: Caipyranhas.
