The Band was put together in spring 2001 as a backing band for american singer / recording artist Rayburn Anthony. Axel Praefcke and Ike Stoye soon found the right guys to make this project happen.
With Michael "Humpty" Kirscht on second lead-guitar, "Lucky" Lehmann on stand-up bass and Torsten "Bam-Boom" Peukert on drums they would try to get it goin.
Just a few days before the tour the whole thing was cancelled and there stood a well-rehearsed band with nothing to do...

"We didn't wanna leave it this way after all the practicing and the countless hours of rehearsing" sez Ike "and somehow everything we played sounded kinda good!"
Good ol' Rayburn wasn't there so we changed our set and did some new material instead.We tried that early R&B thing and BANG! there we were! Ike now plays saxophone instead of western guitar.

Cherry Casino and the Gamblers made their first public appeareance in august 2002 on the famous "Brandenburg- Weekender" in Werder/Berlin and went down very well.
The Boys have built up a huge following of fans, all over Europe.
Constant touring, and their dynamic live stage show has won Cherry Casino a huge legion of devoted fans.
Five funny faces break the ice in less than a second every time they appear with their well blended mix of early R&B and furious Rock and Roll!.

Barnstorming 2nd album from this rockin' English trio. It's all here, from blistering roadhouse rockabilly , moody blues, twangin' telecaster instro's & even a mournful country ballad. There's some interesting covers too including a killer version of 'Train kept a rollin' & even a Kenny Rogers tune!

High Octane Roadhouse Rockabilly maybe thats the first easiest way to start to describe the wall of sound the Drugstore Cowboys have been performing to their audiences since their formation in 1998. In this time the band have performed in excess of 400 shows up and down their home country of England, as well as shows in Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany and the USA. The band draw from many musical styles, from traditional 50s rock n roll, country, tex mex and blues influences, through to 60s, garage, and surf. A live Drugstore show is a real deal, high energy performance, and certainly unpredictable in their choice of material. The bands live set consists of mainly original songs and some interesting surprise covers, such as a souped up version of Kenny Rogers Lucille, through to a Dick Dale/Link Wray instrumental blast. Its all in there! The Drugstore Cowboys pride themselves in appealing and performing to a wide range of music lovers from all walks of life, and have, over the years, opened up shows for varied artists. Including, from personal favourites such as The Paladins, BR549, Jesse Dayton, Legendary shack shakers, Hacienda bros, Reverend Horton Heat and Scotty Moore to bands such as The Damned, Spear of Destiny and Jools Holland. The Drugstore Cowboys were signed to Raucous Records in 1998 and released their debut CD Crash & Burn.

The guys have matured since their debut 'Crash & Burn' , the level of musicianship on display here is astounding . These boys prove a hard act to follow & this new cd backs up their showstopping 'live' appearances admirably .

Somewhere in between a circus side-show and a pair of travelling snake-oil salesmen, The Bonneville Barons are the hot string duo of Yann Mahdjoub (string bass, vocals) and Chris Wilkinson (guitar, vocals).
After cutting his teeth with wild rockabilly band The Tawny Owls in his native France, Ramblin' Yann relocated to the UK in 2002. Eager to find musicians he received a call from 23-year-old Marvel comics devotee Chris Wilkinson.
After meeting in the summer of 2005 the boys began writing and rehearsing their own original material when they came to the attention of Western Star supremo Alan Wilson, who swiftly signed them up and released their debut recording 'The Guitar & Bull-Fiddle of The Bonneville Barons' on Western Star Records.

The pair rehearsed and performed constantly in support of their debut album, playing at every house party, BBQ and bar that would have them. In 2007 the boys embarked upon Europe, making 3 trips to Yann's homeland before finishing off the year with their first appearance at London's legendary Ace Café and the Hillbilly Hop. Even an auto-wreck on a French highway couldn't slow this pair down!
They returned to Western Star studios for 3 days in January 2008 to record their second full-length album, 'Platter Piñata', featuring 13 original songs combining rockabilly, western swing and hillbilly jazz as well as a guest appearance from Hampshire's finest, Lynette Morgan.

Make no mistake, this isn't about nostalgia - the boys have a great passion for music from the 40s & 50s but they treat it as their own, performing brand new original material imbued with the energy of the atomic age. Kinda like using a 60-year-old still to brew your own moonshine!

The son of legendary rock & roll pioneer Johnny Burnette, Rocky Burnette followed in his father's musical footsteps, playing rowdy, high-energy rockabilly that dovetailed nicely with the early-'80s revival of the style.

Born in Memphis in 1953, Burnette debuted in 1979 with the EMI America album Son of Rock'n'Roll (around the same time his cousin Billy began recording straight country for Columbia). The following summer, his single "Tired Of Toein' The Line" became a Top Ten smash, predating success stories by the likes of the Stray Cats and the Cramps; the song was also quite popular internationally, establishing an overseas fan base for Burnette that would endure for quite some time. However, EMI America's financial difficulties scuttled promotion efforts for the follow-up singles (several of which became hits in other countries), and Burnette's second album, Heart Stopper, got lost in the shuffle.

In 1981, Burnette toured Europe with the final version of his late father's Rock & Roll Trio; Burnette also used the band on his next album, Get Hot or Go Home!, which was issued on Enigma. Unfortunately, it met with little commercial response and Enigma chose to drop Burnette and the Trio rather than release their more country flavored follow-up. Burnette began to resurface in the mid-'90s, working with Rosie Flores and Dwight Twilley, and also contributing vocals and the original "Trouble Is I'm in Love With You" to ex-Trio guitarist Paul Burlison's 1997 solo album Train Kept A-Rollin'. In 1996, Burnette finally issued another album, Tear It Up; unfortunately, the label, Core, went bankrupt almost immediately after its release. Undaunted, Burnette kept up his international tours, and supplied soulster Percy Sledge with a European hit with "You Got Away With Love" in 1997. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide. Justice has been done and Joe Clay has his first and so deserved album. This gem was recorded in London using vintage equipement with the cream of the Rockabilly musicians as backing band; Jose Espinosa on dog house bass, Mick Cocksedge on acoustic guitar.

Every year Joe plays the Ponderosa Stomp in New Orleans; in fact he opened the first one. He has also rocked the house at many other U.S. festivals since the return of Joe Clay. He is no longer New Orleans' best kept secret!

After many successful returns to Europe, including topping the bill at Hemsby Rock 'n' Roll Weekender more than once, El Toro Records of Barcelona figured it was definitely time to get Joe to cut a new album. With a return to Hemsby in October 2004 coming up, a recording session was arranged in London with an international crew of musicians, who would also back Joe at the Weekender. With Jose Espinosa at the controls, and all the taping done live, the result is THE LEGEND IS NOW. And here's a thought. Herman Diaz Jr. waited nearly fifty years for his long lost distant grand-nephew, Carlos Diaz, to produce the next Joe Clay record (only kidding!).
