Hot on the heels of their brilliant Hemsby 2008 appearance!

About 12 years ago, The Tennessee Rhythm Riders were playing in a bar in Basingstoke, England. The audience consisted of a few drunk locals and a “Rockin” gang that the ‘Riders had follow them about for a while. However, this time there was a young guy their that they hadn’t seen before with a big haircut but more importantly, a big smile! Gordon was just a kid at the time, too young to see the ‘Riders, but he kept himself out of the way, just joining in with the constant applause for the band. After the show had finished, he walked up to the band, with his brother Tommy and his family and said, enthusiastically, how much he really enjoyed the music. He said he was learning guitar and maybe Willy Briggs (The Tennessee Rhythm Riders guitarist) could show him some licks and said how much he would love to play this sort of stuff one day. He said he had a little brother, Dave that was learning bass and with the aid of a box to stand on, would sometimes get on stage with bands like The Rimshots, and play.

Well, who would have guessed that all this time later Gordon, Dave, Phil (Ex Tennessee Rhythm Rider) and Mark would be playing this “Rockin’ Hillbilly”, “Honky-tonk swing”, “Western Bop” whatever you want to call it! The Western Aces have arrived !! Playing together for about a year, back in February this year their original drummer had to leave. Dave, Phil and Gordon set about looking for the “ideal” replacement. He had to be good, play it the “right” way and have the sort of sense of humour that would force an Eskimo to smile on a cold day after the central heating on his igloo had broken down. With this in mind, they found him. Mark James, a well-known “Cad” around town and good drummer, was known to all the guys in the band. He had played in a successful Rockabilly band, The Ricardo’s, who were regularly playing the same bills and circuit as The ‘Riders. Phil had even had to play Mark’s drum kit on one occasion after the ‘Riders drummer couldn’t make a show. Mark was in and immediately took the sound up another level - the only downfall being the jokes!

Now the ‘Aces are high. Their blend and portrayal of the music they love is taking audiences by storm. This “Introduction” to the ‘Aces sums up the bands desire to recreate the music they love, but in their own way. There are no pigeonholes – its neither Western Swing, Hillbilly or Rockabilly, Honky Tonk. It’s all and a bit more. You can dance to it, weep to it, smile to it and drink to it and hopefully, you’ll love it!!

Dig Wayne was the singer of the rockabilly band Buzz and the flyers and of the new-wave band JoBoxers, who had a number one hit in the UK. He is back with a new album produced by Deke Dickerson.

Buzz and the Flyers was a Black-led rockabilly band on the late '70s NY punk scene; In London he had the Stray Cats and Polecats as openers for his shows. Buzz later changed his name to Dig Wayne and sang with the band JoBoxers in 1983. He's gone into the stage and screen sides of performing in recent years. He appeared in the original London cast of the Louis Jordan musical, 5 Guys Named Moe, and showed up in a few movies, including Judge Dread.

Hank Williams/Wayne Hancock style rockin' country music.

This Athens, Ohio trio does country the way country should be. The Elroys are not the tight jeans and big hat wearing country music of radio and video. They are the dusty, twangy, liquor and heartbreak filled music that the term 'country music’ still evokes for me, but for few others. You will be blown away by Bram Riddlebarger’s tunes and Johnny Borchard’s smoking steel guitar. The band is hot, their sound is classic, Riddlebarger with a vocal style that begs for a yodel here and there, and Borchard’s mellifluous licks melts your ears and breaks your heart. This band deserves your attention. From the first nasally breath of Scaredy Blues, the Wailin’ Elroys take the Hank/Hankcock bull by the horns and make Route 33 a low-key, well produced masterpiece with a hidden punk spine.

A brilliant mixture of modern and authentic Rockabilly Music. CD includes a Killer version of Eddie Cochran's Twenty Flight Rock and a WOW more than cool interpretation of the old school Punk classic Havanna Affair from the Ramones.

The Wailin' Elroys from Athens, Ohio, U S A are a three men band with rhythm guitar, upright bass and a solo guitar and their kind of music is between classic Country Music and primitive 1950s styled Rockabilly and Rock'n'Roll Music. The voice of Bram Riddleberger comes very close to Wayne Hancock's voice and especially by the slower, more moody tracks like Goodnight To No One, Broke Down Pick-up Truck Blues or Cheap Motel, you might think that Hank Williams is talkin' to you! 10 of the 12 tracks are written by Bram Riddleberger and the other two titles are cover versions. I mean nearly every Rockabilly band tries to cover Eddie Cochran's Twenty Flight Rock and most of the versions which are going ´round our world simply suck and may be useful for our grandmothers' Rock'n'Roll Revival parties, but their version is something special and goes right into your knees and will definitely touch you somehow - I mean they really made their own interpretation of this Golden Oldie song and that's the thang !! Their second cover is the Ramones song Havanna Affair with a mean and evil guitar, a real pumpin' bass and a tremendous powerful also mean and evil voice!! If these three cats should play your town sometime you better go and get a ticket for the show, because they play real live Hillbilly- and Rockabilly music like it should be played. It comes from their heart and that's what you'll feel if you listen to the first beats of this silverplate!! For me one of the best if not the best today's releases!

This is a fine blend of Rockabilly, Hillbilly and Country - certainly one for fans of BR5-49, The Chrome Daddies, Number Nine and the like.

Here it is, The first Solo effort from "Diamond" Doug Wilshire, and his pals, The Capers! Now... how did a "Good Ole Boy" from Canada, end up from Australia, recording a CD in Berlin with Germanys best Roots musicians? After several sucessfull CDs, and tours by Australias Chrome Daddies, as the principle songwriter for the band, the idea of a solo album was concieved. This CD is a mix of Car/Hot Rod Songs, Love Songs and Rockin Tunes. A wonderful 16 pages booklet holds all lyrics and some rare photos. 14 tracks make this album a winner. All tracks written by Doug Wilshire. Doug hasn't retired from Chrome Daddies, so you can expect a full length studio album in the tradition of Who's Your Daddies - straight Country in BR5-49 / Dale Watson style. 14 all original songs from Doug Wilshire & The Capers. This is a fine blend of Rockabilly, Hillbilly and Country - certainly one for fans of BR5-49, The Chrome Daddies, Number Nine and the like. Wilshire writes catchy songs and has a good strong voice. His band the Capers provide backing with is precise, rootsy and rockin'. Great stuff!

Betsy-Dawn Williams
Born in North Carolina, Betsy-Dawn Williams (BeeDee) got her first start in music singing in the Baptist choir, but from the first time she heard her granddaddy play claw hammer banjo and imitate a train whistle on his harmonica, her soul was captured by the raw sounds of hillbilly music. The first time she heard rockabilly she was completely smitten, listening to Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. The raw twang and the pounding rhythms
found a home deep in her heart. Betsy-Dawn got her first guitar at the age of 13 and began teaching herself to play chords and back up her own singing. Later she picked up the string bass and has played both guitar and string bass in several bands, including the western swing band The Westernaires, 2 bluegrass bands Pioneer Valley Bluegrass and Lost Wages. She can also be found today playing with the female honky-tonk band Girl Howdy.

Mitch Woods has been the torchbearer of a great American blues musical heritage, not for two years but two decades. Taking his inspiration from the great jump n' boogie outfits of the late 40s and early 50s, he breathes fresh life into the music that gave birth to rock n' roll.

Woods first album, Steady Date (Blind Pig Records) got hot reviews in 1984 and led to appearances at two San Francisco Blues Festivals, openings for the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Blasters, The Neville Brothers, and James Brown. By 1987, Woods was doing a six-country Europe tour highlighted by a rousing performance at the Belgium Rhythm and Blues Festival.

Seven years later on his album Solid Gold Cadillac (Blind Pig Records), Woods and his band were joined by Ronnie Earl, Charlie Musselwhite and the Roomful of Blues Horns. Woods himself was starting to become a guest star, appearing on that year's new releases by John Lee Hooker and John Hammond, and the boogie pianist headlined both the Amsterdam Blues Festival and the Montreal Jazz Festival.

In 2007 Mitch was nominated for Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year Award at the Blues Awards in Memphis. Presented by the Blues Foundation this is one of the highest achievements a blues musician can earn.
It was during on of his European tours that Mitch Woods stoped by Barcelona city to team up with Spanish Jump Blues aces The Lazy Jumpers and record the 12 tracks of Jukebox Drive for El Toro Records.

Mitch Woods and The Lazy Jumpers sound on this new album as the jumpin' n' jivin', shoutin' n' honkin', pumpin' n' poundin' bands of the late 40' s and early 50' s; Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris, Joe and Jimmy Liggins, Amos Milburn, Roy Milton... Adding a healthy dose of New Orleans rhythm and blues, piledrivin' piano, and some of his own contemporary playful lyrics.

The complete Tail recordings of... A 31 track killer CD with a killer price!

French combo created in 1994 by 4 friends from Bourges, France : Olivier, Lead Vocal & Rhythm Guitar – Freddy, Lead Guitar – Laurent, Upright Bass – Pascal ( and then David ), Drums. In the first two years they played all over France in clubs and halls where they met a great success. Then in 1997 came the time of bigger gigs and stages in Switzerland, Spain and Belgium, joining other bands for some festivals, and in France their first appearance with original 50’s American artists such as Sonny Burgess and DJ Fontana.
During 1998, they started to play more in Europe, and had their first Tour through countries like Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and all the way up to Norway. On their way to the Great North, they were invited to record sessions at Tail Records Studio in Sweden where Lars Trandheim, owner of the famous Rockabilly label, decided to make a LP with their sessions : “Face the Space”. With a first 10 inch album in their luggage and 2 great hits records “ Honky Tonk Baby” and above all “Space Rocket Bop”, they followed their way to Rock’n’Roll Fame. Playing all over Europe and doing the promotion of their album wouldn’t have been completed if not playing in England where Rock’n’Roll is a must for every rocking band. By 1999, they would do so by appearing at the biggest Rockin’ festival at the time in Europe : Hemsby Rock’n’Roll Weekender. They had such a great success there that the organization of the other biggest British Festival, the Rockabilly Rave, decided to book them the same year to close their November session ! By the end of 1999 and Beginning of this new century 2000, they put out a new album on Tail Records entitled : “No doubt it’s Rockin’ “. This 2nd LP also received a great welcome and allowed them again to play all over Europe. New tours were taking them from France, across the channel to London, then Spain for the 2 biggest festivals, High Rockabilly in Barcelona & Rockin’ Race Jamboree in Malaga, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden,…They also had the opportunity to play with great stars from the 50’s like Narvel Felts, Glen Glenn, Hayden Thompson or Billy Lee Riley…. In the beginning of 2001, they decided to play a bit more in France where demands were important, and settled a bit to prepare their 3rd album. In the fall of that year, they started a new tour in Europe through countries like Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. They went up once again to Sweden and Tail Records to start new sessions for a 3rd LP. But unfortunately, it would never be finished as Olivier, the lead singer, move to Canada in 2002. Now in 2007, after a 5 year separation, The Wild Goners are back in the Rockabilly Scene as their lead singer is back in Europe for good this time ! A compilation of all their recordings, including songs that were recorded for the 3rd LP and never issued before, is now available since September 2007 on Sleazy Records. Tours and gigs all over Europe are planned for 2008 to promote this new album. They are already booked for big festivals as the Rockin’ Race Jamboree in Spain, and the Rockabilly Rave in England...You will then have the chance to catch somewhere one of the greatest Rockabilly band of the 90’s. Their ever expanding set list covers many styles that exploit the diverse vocals that each member has to offer and the wide range of instruments they play including Tea Chest Bass, Guitar, Fiddle, Banjo, Kazoo, Double Bass, Washboard (of course), Harmonica, Mandolin and stand up drums.
